Communication between powershell and c#?

Is it possible to communicate between powershell and c#?

My group is looking at creating a calculation builder app that our users could enter in a calculation (ex. if (somevalue + someothervalue = 400) then true else false;)

the criteria for us is that this calc builder has to take the inputs from the built script and create some XML to be put into db tables.

Right now we currently have drag and drop items in a window that aren't flexable to define yourself. We want the user to be able to enter in what he wants. Just like programming!

The script the user writes has to be accessed by c#. We don't think we should have a window where c# can be entered into because the learning curve is to high for non techies, but maybe the powershell language would be good?

if we create a powershell window with a powershell prompt inside our WPF app would it be possible to get our data from the powershell script into our WPF app?

I thought powershell would be good because it has documentation and is easier to learn then c#.
