Can't get a volume to use auto unlocking via powershell

I'm trying to get a bunch of disks in my Hyper-V Server 2012 r2 to all be unlocked with the same key. I was successfully able to encrypt the OS drive with a USB key. However, whenever I try to use Enable-BitLockerAutoUnlock on another volume, it doesn't seem to take. That is, the other drive will just stay unencrypted. I tried encrypting another volume with an external key and then setting up auto unlock, but it didn't unlock at boot. Does anyone have any advice?
